Tom Nakashima, fine arts, served as jurist for the 23rd annual fine art exhibition at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art. The exhibition titled A Sense of Place: Continuity and Change in the New South was open to all adult artists in the Southeast.

Appearing in the September issue of Preview, a publication of Georgia Public Broadcasting, is a letter from the executive director, James M. Lyle, in which he says, "Our Georgia Public Radio station in Augusta, WACG 90.7 FM, is moving to new studios at Augusta State University this month. Congratulations to the staff in Augusta on their new facility, and thank you to the Augusta State University family for their support and hard work to make this move so smooth."
