Psychology Department presents Lecture Series

couplesThe second program in the annual Psychology Lecture Series will present Dr. Keith Campbell, University of Georgia, discussing the topic, Narcissism and Relationships, on Friday, October 8, at noon in W1002 Science Building.

Dr. Campbell, an assistant professor of social psychology, has authored or co-authored 10 articles in professional publications such as the Journal of Personality Assessment, Journal of Behavioral Decision Making, Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and the Personality and Social Psychology Review.

He has been widely reported in the media on related topics such as of the importance of narcissism and social rejection to school violence, the relationship between narcissism and love, increases in college students' self-esteem over the last 25 years, and how having children decreases marital satisfaction.

He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society for Social and Personality Psychology, the International Society for the Study of Personal Relationships, and International Society for the Study of Self and Identity.

The annual series is sponsored by ASU’s Department of Psychology and the university’s chapter of Psi Chi. The remaining programs in the free series include: October 15, Mr. Jason McCoy, Cape Fear Community College, There’s Gobbledgook in My Belief Engine: Why Do We Believe Weird Things?; October 22, Dr. Georgina Hammock, ASU, Hurting the Ones You Love: The Use of Aggression in Intimate Relationships; and Dr. Shari Miles, Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues, Using Social Science Research to Inform Social Policy.
