Campus Notables
Richard Davis, languages, literature, and communications,
will have his one act play Amid Canyons and Mesas
produced by the Orphans Theater Company for the Los Angeles Edge of the World
Theater Festival.
Priscilla Hollingsworth, fine arts, recently won
first prize in 3D at the Southworks show. Her work also appeared in The Teapot
Show in Atlanta and in the McCormick Arts Council 4th Annual Juried Art Exhibit
in McCormick.
Emam Hoosain, teacher development, recently had
a book titled A Concrete, Problem- Solving Approach
to Teaching Operations on Fractions Using Discrete, Manipulative Materials
published by Scholargy, Inc.
Brian Rust, fine arts, had artwork that is on
display at the Bank of America Building reviewed by the Atlanta
Journal Constitution. The exhibition includes sculptures and drawings.
Tim Sadenwasser, languages, literature, and communications,
was recently awarded his PhD in English from UNC-Chapel Hill.
Michael Searles, history, anthropology and philosophy,
made a presentation at Bush Museum in College Station, TX.
Hubert van Tuyll, history, anthropology and philosophy,
is the author of Vragen met betrekking tot de strategische
geschiedenis van Nederland 1905- 1920 [Issues
in the Strategic History of the Netherlands 1905-1920], which appears
in volume 3 of De grote orrlog: kroniek 1914-1918
[The Great War: Chronicle: 1914-1918].

The work of eight MPA students was featured as the lead
story in the August issue of PA Times,
a publication by the American Society of Public Administration.
The story, Punch vs. Touch in Georgia Voting,
highlighted the students work in conducting a study of new voting technologies.
The article was in response to a two-part series on the state of Georgias
voting reform efforts, which ran in the March and April issues of PA
Times.
