“The earlier that the alumni office receives your check, the lower your assigned number will most likely be,” says Mr. Zamzow. The numbers JQ1 and JQ2 are assigned to the president, and subsequent numbers will be assigned randomly whenever 25 applications are received. After the first 100 applications, tag numbers will be randomly assigned by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Mr. Zamzow emphasizes the importance of obtaining the tag directly from the university. The ASU Foundation had to guarantee that 500 tags would be purchased in order for the project to be approved by the DMV. Although the tag can be ordered directly from the DMV, the application fee will not be reimbursed to the foundation unless it is ordered through the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. “We have wanted to offer this tag to university faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends and are appreciative to the ASU Foundation for making this possible,” says Mr. Zamzow. The tag costs $25. For more information about the new license plate, contact Mr. Wes Zamzow in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 737-1759 or wzamzow@aug.edu or stop by the Maxwell Alumni House.
