Until the violence stops

In 2001, Richmond County reported 3,198 cases of domestic violence and rape. The numbers are alarming, and to increase public awareness of violence against women, ASU's Women's Studies will participate in the V-Day College Campus Campaign Feb. 7-9 at 7 p.m. nightly in the Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre.

Augusta State students, faculty, and staff will read from The Vagina Monologues, a play written by V-Day’s founder, Eve Ensler. V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women and girls which is held each year around Valentine's Day.

General admission is $10; $5 with valid ASU ID in advance and $12; $8 with valid ASU ID at the door.

All proceeds raised from this event will go to Safe Homes of Augusta and Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan. For more information call Kim Davies, 737-1735.
