Friends of Sammy and Cindy Collins, the parents of Chelsea A. Collins, a ninth grade student at Lakeside High School who passed away in August, initiated a project to raise money for a scholarship in Chelsea's honor. They raised more than $85,000, and the scholarship, named the Chelsea A. Collins Memorial Scholarship, was presented to the family on Dec. 13, at a ceremony in the Maxwell Alumni House. The scholarship will be awarded to students in the spring. Mr. Collins is a 1972 graduate of Augusta State.
