Thirty Students Participate in Project Success

Thirty students from 10 local high schools were on campus during June for two weeks, participating in a summer program known as Project Success.

Students participated in hands-on scientific experiments, college preparatory courses, and academic and international music sessions. They also created their own web pages, which can be viewed at www.aug.edu/project_success/. In a closing ceremony at the Physical Education/Athletic Complex on Friday, June 22, Dr. Fred Barnabei, vice president of business and students services, presented certificates to the students.

The program, which is designed to motivate students to continue their education, is sponsored by the Richmond County Opportunities, Inc. The six-week program involves Augusta State University, the Medical College of Georgia, and Paine College, with each institution hosting the students for two weeks.
