Writers conference brings notable authors to ASU
The
Sandhills Writers Conference begins March 21 at 11 a.m. in Galloway Hall,
room 101, with the keynote address by Jayne Cortez, American Book Award winner.
The Sandhills conference is a gathering of writers, editors, and musicians
with diverse perspectives and cultural backgrounds, who share their craft
with those attending the talks.
The conference continues in the Science Building, room W1002, March 21 at
7.45 p.m., with a reading by South Carolina fiction writer George Singleton
and New York novelist Elizabeth Nunez.
On Friday at 7.45 p.m., Atlanta novelist and playwright JoAllen Bradham, and
Cortez, an American Book Award winning poet, will hold readings, also in the
Science Building.
Other participants include Andrew Calhoun, song lyric evaluator; Leotis Clyburn,
Creative Development for Air Control Music, Inc. director; Jane Dystel, literary
agent; Steven Huff, poetry evaluator; and Nancy Smiler Levinson, award-winning
author of many titles for young readers.
Books written by these authors are also available at the bookstore in Washington
Hall.
