Teaching showcase

Coaching future teachers with proven educational practices is the idea behind the Best Practices Showcase which was held Saturday, April 20, in Butler Hall. Master teachers, apprentices, interns, and some first-year teachers from the Induction of Beginning Teachers project shared their teaching skills with the 50 students finishing their teaching apprenticeship at ASU.

More than 30 presenters from Columbia, Richmond, Burke, McDuffie, and Jefferson counties presented 20 sessions highlighting lessons that reflect practices that have worked for them in their own teaching, said Dr. Mary Gendernalik Cooper, professor and chair of teacher development.

The College of Education and the Professional Development School Network hosted the event.
