ASU spring commencement May 11

Danny CraigSpring commencement is being held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 11, at the Physical Education/Athletic Complex on Wrightsboro Road.

More than 280 graduates are expected to cross the stage and receive their undergraduate degrees, while 44 are slated to receive graduate-level degrees.

The keynote speaker for the event is Daniel Craig, an Augusta native and 1976 ASU alumni. Craig went on to receive his law degree in 1979 from Mercer University.

Since 1993 he has served as district attorney for the Augusta Judicial Circuit, serving three counties and approximately 350,000 citizens. During that time Craig has tried 20 death penalty cases.

Prior to becoming the area district attorney, he was in private practice from 1979 to 1992. He has also served as a faculty member for the National College of District Attorneys and as director of Georgia’s School of Basic Litigation for Prosecutors.

For more information on commencement, call 737-1408.
