ASU's jazz band performs benefit concert

Robert Foster, fine arts, along with ASU's Jazz Combo and Jazz Ensemble performed a benefit concert at the Savannah Lakes Village in McCormick.

The Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo shared the net proceeds of the concert with the Children's Home, Friends of the Library, Rotary Scholarship Fund, Lions Club, McCormick County Humane Society, and the Augusta State University Fine Arts Department.

The 20-member ensemble performs regularly at ASU and at jazz concerts throughout Georgia and South Carolina. The ensemble's most recent performance at ASU was a celebration send-off for Wayne Hoey, a veteran jazz saxophone player who played with All that Jazz for several years.
