In Memoriam

Eloy Fominaya, professor of music and former chair of the fine arts department died April 8 at the V.A. Medical Center.

He retired as a professor of music at age 70 after a 33-year career at Augusta State where he taught violin, composition, contemporary harmony, and humanities.

Fominaya was associate conductor of the Augusta Symphony, and he played violin in the orchestra. He also was musical director and conductor of the Augusta Chorale Society for 12 years.
