Bands converge for military music concert
Augusta, Ga. – Music has been an important part of the military since its inception. A Nov. 1 concert looks to explore that storied past as the Augusta State University Wind Ensemble and Fort Gordon’s U.S. Army Signal Corps Band combine efforts.
Military marching music and songs of the World War II era will fill the Imperial Theatre at 7 p.m. The two bands continue to practice for the concert between noon and 1 p.m. each day in ASU’s Fine Arts Center and will continue the collaboration with a Dec. 6 holiday concert at the First Baptist Church of Augusta.
Admission to the Nov. 1 concert is free. For more information, call 706-791-3113.
