A Day Academic Symposium explores Nazi Race Policies
Augusta, Ga. - Nazi Race Policies will be the topic of discussion when The National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi presents its A Day Academic Symposium on Friday, Oct. 12, from 9 to 10:15 a.m. in 170 University Hall.
Angela Bratton, assistant professor in ASU’s Department of History, Anthropology, and Philosophy will open with a presentation titled Crafting Racial Identity: Understanding U.S. Eugenics and Nazi Policies as Pseudoscience. Yvonne Rieker, associate professor of history at the University of Muenster, will give a presentation titled Destined to Witness: Growing up Black in Nazi, Germany—The Story of Hans Juergen Massaquoi. The forum moderator will be Raymond Whiting, ASU professor of political science. Each presenter will speak briefly and then field questions from the audience.
