Military Science chair receives promotion
Augusta, Ga. – Lieutenant Colonel Michele Goddette, chair and professor of military science at Augusta State University, has been selected for promotion to rank of Colonel by the Department of the Army. Lt. Col. Goddette, an ordnance officer, came to ASU in June of 2004.
“I am excited that Lt. Col. Michele Goddette has been selected for promotion to Colonel,” says Samuel Sullivan, ASU vice president for academic affairs. “This is an extraordinary accomplishment and is certainly the direct result of her hard work and dedication in leading extremely successful ROTC programs at Augusta State University, Paine College and USC Aiken. I am extremely proud of her and thank her for all that she has done for us.”
Lt. Col. Goddette, who has served in both command and senior staff positions, received a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Vermont, a master’s degree in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College, and a master’s degree in organizational behavior/organizational effectiveness from Chapman University. Lt. Col. Goddette is the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal and six awards of the Meritorious Service Medal. She is also airborne qualified and is rated a Senior Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician.
