Buffalo Soldiers to make annual visit to ASU
Augusta, Ga. –It is time to honor those Americans who protected the western frontier. The annual Buffalo Soldiers Day at Augusta State University will allow visitors to get up close and personal with members of the Buffalo Soldiers of Greater Atlanta and their horses on Monday, Feb. 18, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Galloway Hall.
Michael Searles, aka, Cowboy Mike, assistant professor in ASU’s Department of History, Anthropology, and Philosophy, will present a video at 11 a.m. in 101 Galloway Hall on the history of Buffalo Soldiers. A discussion will immediately follow the video presentation from noon- 1 p.m. Following the discussion audience members will have the chance to witness the Buffalo Soldiers showcase their skills on horseback.
