Director of the U.S. Army Staff to speak at ASU

Augusta, Ga. – Recent reports about the mistreatment of soldiers at veteran’s hospitals as well as the firing of top military officials has the military evaluating those in leadership positions.

The Department of Military Science at Augusta State University will host a discussion on leadership by Lieutenant General James L. Campbell, the director of the Army Staff, on Friday, April 27, at 2 p.m. in 170 University Hall. Lt. Gen. Campbell will also discuss today’s challenging environment, the demands on Army, and what it takes to be an effective and successful leader of soldiers.

Lt. Gen. Campbell works directly for the Secretary and Chief of Staff for the Army. He has 15 years military experience which includes participating in virtually every military action of the United States during that time. Lt. Gen. Campbell is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia.
