Jim Blanchard final speaker for Focus on Ethics series
Augusta, Ga. - The Hull College of Business will present James H. Blanchard as the final speaker in its Focus on Ethics series on Thursday, May 3, at 2:30 p.m. in Augusta State University’s Jaguar Student Activities Center ballroom.
Mr. Blanchard, the chief executive officer of Synovus from 1971-2005, served as chairman of the board. He also serves on the boards of Columbus Bank and Trust Company, TSYS, American Banking Association, and numerous others.
An advocate of servant leadership, Mr. Blanchard has fostered a culture at Synovus that places emphasis on balancing work and life. Synovus, a financial services holding company with more than $32 billion in assets, has been named to Fortune magazine’s “The 100 Best Companies to Work For” in America 10 times in the past 10 years. It was also named to Georgia Trend’s “Best Places to Work in Georgia.”
The magazine also named Mr. Blanchard “Most Respected CEO” in the state and “Georgian of the Year.” U.S. Banker magazine named him one of the “25 Most Influential People in Financial Services.”
