Barnes Recognizes ASU HOPE Scholars

 

 

Georgia Governor Roy E. Barnes visited Augusta State University on Tuesday, Oct. 17, in a statewide tour to recognize the HOPE Scholarship Program. Taking part in a ceremony at ASU's Performing Arts Theatre was the governor, ASU President William A. Bloodworth, Jr., and ASU HOPE Scholar Stephen Myers. Flanking the stage were more than 50 students, most of them HOPE Scholars. The state tour and ceremony marks the 500,000 HOPE Scholarship awarded in the state. At Augusta State, 5,256 students have received $11,659,356 in HOPE Scholarship funds since 1993.
