Bush Wins Mock Election

George Bush will become the next president of the United States if results of a mock election at Augusta State University held October 18 hold true. The mock election, using ballots and voting booths supplied by the Board of Elections, was sponsored by the university's Political Science Club with assistance from the Pre-Law Club. The results were:

Bush/Cheney (Republican) - 322

Gore/Lieberman (Democrat ) - 291

Brown/Olivier (Libertarian) - 21

Buchanan/Foster (Reform) - 9

Write-in candidates Ralph Nader received 49 votes; David Letterman, 1 vote, and ASU sociology professor Bill Reese received one write-in vote.
