ASU Honors Veterans

Veterans DaySenator Charles Walker will be the key speaker at the annual Augusta State University’s Veterans Day ceremony, Friday, November 9, at 3 p.m. in front of the Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre.
Senator Walker, a 1974 alumnus, is the majority leader in the state senate. Before he was elected to represent the 22nd District in 1990, Walker served four terms in the state House of Representatives.

During the ceremony, special tribute will be paid to two university alumni who lost their lives in service to our country. Maj. Stephen P. Long, ’89, lost his life in the September 11 terrorist attack at the Pentagon, and Capt. Kenneth A. Sexton, ’89, lost his life in a training mission. For more information on the ceremony, contact the Military Science Department at 737-1644.
