ASU Sponsors Sickle Cell Workshop
Augusta
State's Department of Sociology and Black Student Union sponsored a Sickle
Cell Workshop during September which featured poster presentations from students
as well as presenters from the Medical College of Georgia, Georgia School
Workers, the Veterans Administration Medical Center Sickle Cell and Genetic
Unit, and the Augusta Sickle Cell Support Group. Ernestine Thompson, sociology,
and Jackie Stewart, institutional research and advisor to the Black Student
Union, co-chaired the event. Melissa Williams, nursing, also participated
