ASU’s Staff Council named Rick Sulzycki, Reese Library, the Summer Semester Staff Excellence Award winner on September 27, 2001, in a ceremony in the Reese Room of the library. He was presented with a plaque, balloons and a $50 check. Suszvki is a library assistant IV. He makes it a pleasure to come to work every day! He has a can-do attitude – nothing is out of the realm of possibility for him. Rick’s performance is exactly the kind of behavior we want to instill in all of our employees. His cooperative and friendly manners reflect favorably on the department and the University-- These were several comments that his colleagues wrote in nominating him for the award.

One staff person is selected each semester for the award, and an Employee of the Year is chosen from them. “The response of faculty and staff has been overwhelming for this award, says Patty Waggy, council chair. “Each semester the number of nominations has grown. This is one project that the council is very proud to sponsor,” she adds.

The council would also like to welcome the following new staff members to our campus. Included are all staff persons who have been hired since July 1.

The Staff Council will have a team walking in the American Heart Walk, which is being held on the main campus, Saturday, September 13. If you would like to donate, please contact your representative – “these boots were made for walking” – for others! Please consider helping in this community event.
