Television stations WJBF (6) and WAGT (26) covered New Student
Convocation on Sunday, August 12. President William A. Bloodworth, Jr., spoke
with WJBF; WAGT interviewed Fred Barnabei, vice president, business and student
services.
On August 16, WAGT interviewed Chip Matson, computer services, for a segment
on campus technology.
On
August 21, WAGT talked with Joyce Jones, dean of students, about the Week
of Welcome and with Jasper Cooke, public safety, about campus security.
WRDW (12) did a segment on new technology use at the university and talked
with Chip Matson, computer services.
Jack Widener, dean of the College of Business Administration, was a featured

President William A. Bloodworth, Jr., and Shannon Hanson, women's golf coach,
accepted a check for the women's golf program at a Publix-Executive Women's
Golf Association news conference on August 24, which was reported on local
news stations.
Don Howard, business administration, was interviewed by WRDW August 29 about
retail sales in our area.
Jonathan Leightner, business administration, was interviewed by WAGT August
30 concerning the state of the economy.
