About 400 Students Attend New Student Convocation

Maxwell Theatre was filled to near capacity as about 400 new students and their guests were welcomed to Augusta State at the annual New Student Convocation on Sunday, August 12. More than 50 faculty members turned out in academic regalia to meet the new students. Dean of Students Joyce Jones, President William A. Bloodworth, Jr., Mr. and Ms.
ASU, the president of student government, and Dr. Jim Garvey made presentations.

"It was fantastic," says Dr. Jones. "The group was the largest ever in attendance, and they were truly inspired by the speakers," she added.

Following the program and a small reception, sessions were offered on various aspects of student success.
