Transferring my GI BILL benefits to my dependents

Question
Who determines whether I can transfer my education benefits to my dependents?

Answer
Each branch of the military has the sole discretion to determine whether that service will allow the transfer of benefits to dependents. VA does not have any authority to grant this option.

For information about the Transferability Program, please Click Here.

In the past, certain members of the Air Force and Navy were eligible to transfer benefits to their dependents, but the eligibility was very limited and usually only offered to service members in critical occupational specialties. If you are unsure of your eligibility status for this program, you are most likely not eligible, as participation was very limited and eligible members were made aware of their status by the military branches. Please contact your military branch for more information. VA has no authority on this matter.

Georgia offer some education benefits for dependents of veterans. For more information, visit:Georgia Deptment of Veterans Services
