When and How to Withdraw From a Class

• A withdrawal form is used to withdraw from classes at ASU, after the schedule adjustment periodhas ended.
  
• The official withdrawal date is the date the form is received in the Office of the Registrar.
  
• Refunds are only processed for full withdrawals.
  
• Answer all questions on the form to help expedite the withdrawal process.
  
• Obtain the instructor/chairperson's signature of the department to withdraw from a class.
  
• Athletes also must obtain the signature of the Athletic Director.
  
• International students must notify the school/Gina Thurman (706) 667-4997, when withdrawing below fulltime.
  
• Students who receive financial aid of any kind (Grants, Hope, Loans, Scholarships etc.) must have the Financial Aid office stamp the withdrawal form, after the instructor/chairperson has signed the form.
  
• Students enrolled in both Learning Support and credit courses may not withdraw or be withdrawn from a Learning Support course unless they also withdraw or are withdrawn from all credit courses.
  
• To receive a "W" the withdrawal form must be complete and turned into the Office of the Registrar prior to the close of business on midterm.
  
• After midterm normally a student will be assigned a"WF". A grade of "W" may be assigned under certain circumstances.
  
• Instructors must indicate the last date of attendance on the withdrawal form.
