When and How to Withdraw From a Class

• A withdrawal form is used to withdraw from a class or ASU, after the schedule adjustment period is over.
  
• The official withdrawal date is the date the form is received in the Office of the Registrar.
  
• Refunds are only processed for full withdrawals.
  
• Please answer all questions on the form to help expedite the withdrawal process.
  
• You must obtain the instructor/chairperson's signature of the department to withdraw from a class.
  
• Athletes also must obtain the signature of the Athletic Director.
  
• International students must notify the school/Gina Thurman (706)667-4997, when they are withdrawing below fulltime.
  
• If you receive financial aid of any kind (Grants, Hope, Loans, Scholarships etc.) the Financial Aid office will need to stamp your withdrawal form, after the instructor/chairperson has signed the form.
  
• Only the instructor may initiate a withdrawal from a regents required course. However, the student may withdraw themselves if they are completing a full withdrawal.
  
• Students enrolled in both Learning Support and credit courses may not withdraw or be withdrawn from a Learning Support course unless they also withdraw or are withdrawn from all credit courses.
  
• To receive a "W" the withdrawal form must be complete and turned into the Office of the Registrar prior to the close of business on midterm.
  
• After midterm normally a student will be assigned a"WF". A grade of "W" may be assigned under certain circumstances.
  
• Instructors must indicate the last date of attendance on the withdrawal form.
