Confidentiality of Student Records
Under the provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, Augusta State University has established policies concerning the confidentiality of student educational records. Students have the right to seek correction of the contents of these records, to place an explanatory note in a record when a challenge is not successful, and to control (with certain exceptions) the disclosure of the contents of their records.

Directory information concerning an individual student, including name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, date and place of birth, height and weight of members of athletic teams, major, participation in athletic and student activities, dates of attendance, degrees, awards and honors, and most recent institution attended, is generally available for release unless a student specifically requests in writing that this information not be released. This request must be submitted in writing to the Registrar's Office.
