The Office of Admissions will notify the applicant by mail as to the specific date and time of the College Placement Examination. Based on the results of the exam, the applicant will be admitted, placed in Learning Support, or denied admission to the university. If accepted, the student shall complete any Learning Support requirements indicated. If denied, after one academic semester has passed, the applicant must document attempts to improve his or her academic skills before being reconsidered for admission.
Applicants who are admitted to the university but fail to satisfy the College Preparatory Curriculum requirements for science, social science, or foreign language will be required to complete, with a grade of C or better, at least one college course in each area of deficiency within the first 30 semester hours earned. In the case of students who have completed no high school foreign language course, two college courses in the same foreign language will be required, with a grade of C or better in each. No credit earned in these courses will be applied to the requirements of the university degree.
University College is a two-year unit of Augusta State University designed to assist Georgia resident students who live within a fifty mile radius but do not meet the admissions requirements for the university. Applicants who do not meet regular admissions standards will be reviewed for consideration for admission to University College. To be considered for admission to University College for the 2000-2001 academic year, the student must satisfy specific prevailing University College criteria. All Freshman Categories and Transfer students are all subject to University College review. Contact the Office of Admissions for details.
Life Enrichment Student Admissions Requirements: A life enrichment applicant is one who files a completed application form, has graduated from high school or the equivalent, has not attended high school or college in the past five years, and has earned no more than 14 transferable semester hours (20 quarter hours) of college credit.
Although neither the American College Test (ACT) nor the Scholastic Aptitude Test is required of Life Enrichment applicants, the Collegiate Placement Examination (CPE) will be required for admission consideration.
