This course describes and analyzes the major political systems in Western Europe. It includes France, Germany, Italy and Great Britain. It compares and contrasts the constitutions of these four countries and their political and economic developments after the Second World War. Prerequisite: POLS 1101 & 2701, grades of C or better.

A critical examination of ancient Greek political philosophy in the writings of Plato and Aristotle and their expressions of fundamental theoretical and practical approaches to political experiences of regime and citizenship. Their contemporary relevance will be scrutinized. Prerequisite: POLS 1101 & 2701, grades of C or better.
