WELCOME TO THE ASU SACS SELF-STUDY WEB SITE
The ASU SACS Self-Study Web Site (including the ASU SACS Self-Study Report 2001) has been created to provide ongoing information about the self-study process at Augusta State University. The Commissions on Colleges (COC) of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097: Telephone number 404-679-4501) requires that institutions conduct a self-study at ten year intervals for the reaffirmation of accreditation. The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia requires that all institutions be SACS accredited. The major purpose of the self-study is to study in-depth all aspects of the institution focusing on the Criteria for Accreditation and the institutionally derived self-study goals. The major outcome of the self-study process is institutional improvement.
The ASU SACS Self-Study Web Site contains some important information about the self-study process. The SACS Commission on Colleges: Overview of Self-Study Program provides some descriptive information about SACS and the accreditation process, as well as goals, objectives, and benefits of the self-study for the institution. The ASU SACS Self-Study Mission defines ASU's purpose of the self-study process and the institution's self-study goals. The Structure and Process of the ASU Self-Study provides a summary of the structure (committees and responsibilities) and process (what is going on during important time periods) of the self-study. More detailed information about the structure and process of the self-study can be found in the Augusta State University Self-Study Plan and Manual. The web site contains the Summary Presentations of Principal Committee Chairs: Faculty/Staff Forum, 9/29/99 held in Butler Hall September 29, 1999, and an Updated Guide for Department/Unit Self-Study Reports.
The web site also contains the ASU Mission and Goals, updated committee membership lists, committee minutes, self-study resource materials, updated self-study calendar, and updated SACS MUST Statement Assignments.
Please take the time to become familiar with the self-study process and return to the site on a recurring basis. Information is continuously updated on the site and new information is added regularly.
Suggestions, questions or concerns regarding the ASU SACS Self-Study should be sent to Laura M. Nichols.
