The Augusta State University Staff Advisory Council (SAC) exists to foster and enhance communications between staff and the University community; to provide a forum for discussing and defining the role of classified staff in the University; to represent and advocate their concerns within the University community and statewide; to serve as a resource for inquires and requests;  to advise and make recommendations on existing and proposed University policies and procedures; and to ensure inclusion of classified staff on University committees.

The purpose of the Staff Advisory Council is to:

• To act as liaison between all Augusta State University Staff (permanent and temporary) and the President of the University in all relevant matters
• To keep open lines of communication with the President
• To facilitate communication among staff members
• To present staff issues and concerns to the President
