Budgeting For College
A college education is an important investment in yourself. Although one of Augusta State University’s many assets is affordability, there are still expenses to be met. Typically these fees include:
  • Athletic Fee - per term fee; supports the men’s and women’s varsity athletic programs.
  • Student Activities Fee - per term fee; defrays the expenses for essential student services not covered in the instructional and educational budget.
  • Technology Fee - per term fee; provides technology resources for student use.
  • Transportation Fee - per term fee; entitles currently enrolled students to free service on all routes served by Augusta Public Transit, including limited service between ASU's main campus and Phys.Ed./Athletic Complex on Wrightsboro Road on class days. (Must show validated student JagCard student ID .)
  • Tuition - per credit hour fee; 12 or more credit hours is a flat fee; less than 12 hours is charged per hour.
    Other Fees
  • Parking Fee - annual fee ($20 2005-2006); parking permits are valid through Summer term.
  • Registration Exception Penalty - $50 fee charged after registration ends for any special exception registrations.
  • Special Fees - some courses may require additional fees for equipment necessary for instruction (e.g. art, music, scuba, math with special calculator); fees may be noted in the course schedule booklet.
Undergraduate Fees
Registration is not complete each term until all fees have been paid to the Business Office. Fee payment may be made by cash, check, money order, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or officially awarded financial assistance. Fees cannot be deferred.
