The 2nd Annual Search for ASU's Idol competition
Preliminary Round -Tuesday, January 15, 2008
You've heard of American Idol, but now you have a chance to become
Augusta State's Idol. That's right! ASU is searching for a student
to become ASU's Idol. So if you think you have the skill to walk
away with the title. Sign up on-line to add you name to the list of
participants. Students who sign up will be given a time to
audition. The time slots scheduled are based on the number of
students who sign up for auditions. Contestants will be given up to
2 minutes to sing the song of their choice. Selection of
contestants will be based on the opinion of three judges.
Contestants will only be given a microphone and no music or CD
player will be allowed in the audition. Up to 20 contestants
will be selected to go on to the next round. Please note that all
audition will be open to all faculty, staff and students. Guests
may be allowed for space permits!

Time: 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Semi-Final Video taping and Pipeline Voting-Tuesday, January 22,
2008
The
top 20 contestants will move on to the Semi-Final Videotaping to
sing a song selected by the panel of judges. Each singer has 15
minutes to rehearse and be taped. 20 contestant X 15 minutes each =
5 hours. Contestants will be asked to reserve a time for their taped
performance in the Student Activities office. All contestants will
be asked to sing the same song. This event is only open to the
contestant and their guest(s). Guest may be limited by the Director
of Student Activities

Time: By appointment only
Pipeline Voting will take place online on Thursday, January
24th thru Monday, Jan. 28th. Current students will only be
allowed to vote once using campus pipeline to login. Four
finalists will be announced on Tuesday, January 29th.
All 20 finalists must attend the public announcement in the
Breezeway of the Student Center.

Search for ASU's Idol Finals Friday, February 1, 2008
Now it's time
for the competition! You have seen them in the preliminary round
and voting for the top four on campus Pipeline and now it's time to
see who walks away with the cash prize of $1000.00. The running up
will receive $250.00. Each contestant will perform two songs and the
student will get another chance to vote to see who will become the
first ASU Idol. Students must have a valid JAG card in order to
receive a ballot. Only one vote per student. Voting will take
place during intermission. Ballots will only be given at start of
the competition.
