Transfer Orientation

Welcome to Augusta State University! We are glad you will be joining the ASU community by first attending the New Student Orientation Program. The orientation program is designed so that you will receive quality academic advising and become familiar with your new home-away-from home. The program is also available to family members to help them become familiar with ASU, its people, programs and offices.

Please plan to arrive at 8:30 a.m. for check in under the big white tent in the front entrance of the school at the circular drive. A continental breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by a welcome session in our Jaguar Student Activities Center. Orientation will conclude around 4:30 p.m.

Transcripts: Prior to your Orientation session, please submit your official transcripts for evaluation.

Review our transfer equivalency guide at https://chips.aug.edu:2500/pls/hot/web019.Find_State.

Once transcripts have been evaluated review your paperwork sent from the Registrar's Office CAREFULLY to make sure you understand what was transferred and how. Be sure to jot down any questions you may have for the Registrar's Office or your advisor so that you use your time at Orientation wisely and get all of your questions answered.

Immunization Form: If you haven't already sent in your immunization form, please bring your completed form with you to orientation.

JAGCard: You will receive more information about your official ASU identity card and will have the chance to take your picture during the orientation program. The JAGCard office is located on the 2nd floor of the Jaguar Student Activities Center.

Parking permits: Students must register their vehicles to park on ASU grounds. Parking Services will be available in the lab that you register for courses. Please make sure to register your car online before you speak with them about a permit.

Please park in any ASU parking space for orientation.

What to bring with you:
1. Government Issued ID
2. Official Admission Letter
3. Paperwork from Financial Aid (if you are receiving any)
4. Transfer Evaluation and other copies of unofficial transcripts

Registration is required for Orientation. Please call the Office of Student Activities at 706-737-1610 to register for New Student Orientation.

If we can answer any questions for you, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
