Communications and Professional Writing. The Fall and Spring Film series
is a screening of interesting movies selected by ASU faculty and staff.
The film screening takes place every Monday at 7 PM in University Hall

This is an acclaimed documentary produced by Abigail Disney, granddaughter of Walt, telling the true story of how the brave women of Liberia helped to bring peace to their country after many years of civil war. Director - Olivier Assayas The French family drama is the newest film from veteran director Olivier Assayas. Its universal theme is the passing of generations and the value of family heirlooms. The plot keeps us guessing: will a one-night stand in San Francisco grow into something more? The complexities of building a modern relationship are shown in this independent film directed by Barry Jenkins. If you’ve never seen it on a big screen now is the time to feast your eyes on the 18th-century splendor of Kubrick’s adaptation of the William Makepeace Thackeray novel. Starring Ryan O’Neal, who in 1975 was a big romantic draw for the box-office, Barry Lyndon in its own way is said to show many similarities with another, more controversial Kubrick film, Clockwork Orange. The film will be introduced by Professor Todd Hoffman, who is teaching a course on Kubrick films at ASU this semester. The end of October is the time of the year for horror films, and we have two that help us see the horror genre as it is treated in different European cultures.
