Our departments

The Vice President for Student Services and Dean of Students is responsible for coordination of the following: Career Center, Counseling Center, Financial Aid, First Year Experience, Grover C. Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre, Housing, International Student Services, Orientation, Student Activities, and Testing and Disability Services.



Meet Dr. Jones

Dr. Joyce Jones earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Nebraska and received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas . She has counseled young adults for more than 14 years, focusing in the area of childhood psychopathology.

Previously, Dr. Jones held the positions of Director of Educational Programs at the Carter Center of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Read more.



Mission Statement

The mission of the Student Services Division is to provide opportunities for student growth at all levels of development-personal, social, academic, cultural, and professional-and to provide student services that contribute to educational programs and student success.

The institutional mission states that "Augusta State University is committed to excellence in teaching, advancement of knowledge, and enrichment of the community in a climate that fosters human values and a life-long love of learning." In support of that mission, the overarching goal of the division of Student Services is to enhance the personal and professional learning environment for all students.
