The Grover C. Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre is the cultural heart of the ASU campus. Performances by students and faculty in the Fine Arts Department and Theatre Program are held here regularly, as are other events sponsored by the Student Activities Office. Among other significant performances, the Augusta Symphony presents its Sunday afternoon Publix concerts in the PAT, and the Harry Jacobs Chamber Music Society presents all of its concerts here. The newest professional ensemble to call the PAT “home” is the Augusta Opera, which will present two productions here in the 2005-06 season.

In addition to musical and theatre events, the Maxwell hosts many of the important ceremonial events for the university. Matriculation Convocations, Student Honors and Awards Ceremonies, Employee Recognition Ceremonies and many other such events are held here.

When the calendar permits, the Grover C. Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre is available for rental. Our theatre is a 750-seat building on the ASU campus, available for both school functions and off-campus use. Direct booking inquiries to Andrea Dent in the Physical Plant Office at (706) 737-1593.
