This study abroad program will examine the influence of the culture on the educational system of Ecuador. Students will be immersed in service learning in school settings at all levels as they visit and assist in classrooms. In addition students will participate in a variety of planned experiences to key cultural exhibits to gain a deeper understanding of the history and culture of Ecuador and explore various geological sites such as the Market Place, the equator, a Cloud Forest, and a hacienda.

SABR 2930 Fundamentals of Human Communication

This course counts as the 3-hour credit required Core Communications COMS1020 course. Earn your required Core Communications credit while studying in Ecuador! In this course you will learn about various types of communication, including how you communicate with yourself, in personal relationships, in work relationships, in small groups, and across cultures. We will practice techniques of public speaking then take our skills to Ecuador where we will share presentations and be immersed in cross-cultural communication while exploring various sites such as the Market Place, the equator, the Presidential Palace, a Cloud Forest, a volcano, a hacienda, and more.
