SABR 2930 or 4930 India: An Introduction to the Sub-Continent

The course will introduce students to the relevant political and socio-economic issues affecting Indian government, economy, and society. The course will focus on the cultural differences and conflicts, ethnic and religious diversity, socioeconomic inequalities, and global market forces that help make the country one of the most complex societies in the world. This course is designed for students with an interest in history, culture and development, and social change, gender, international relations, political science, sociology and business.
SABR 4930: India: The Global Environment of Business

The course will examine the economic changes that have taken place in India since the 1990’s and the resulting changes in the corporate environment of the country. Students will have the opportunity to visit several multinationals including ADP, Infosys, Microsoft, and Wipro in the city of Hyderabad.
