Travel Writing
SABR2930/3930
Professor Rick Davis
You’ll learn to see with a critical eye and to write an interesting, insightful account of your trip to Senegal. Good travel writing provides much more than information. It recreates for the reader the sights and sounds -- the wonder -- of traveling abroad. Therefore, you’ll learn what is essential as well as what is compelling about travel writing. You will write an article which reveals what you’ve learned, and you will illustrate your essay with appropriate photographs. This course may be taken at the 2000 level as an Areas F elective for most majors or at the 3000 level to fill requirements in any track in the Department of Communications and Professional Writing.
