ANNOUNCEMENTS

Update On Graduate Field Experiences: All graduate education courses will contain 15 hours of field work beginning in the Fall of 2008. If students are not currently employed as a classroom teacher, the department will provide you with a list of possible placement options. Please prepare for this addition to all our graduate level courses. Later this summer, additional information on placement options will be posted to our website under Field Experiences.

Students entering all graduate programs (MAT, M.Ed. and Ed.S.) in the Fall of 2008 will be required to complete 300 hours of field work before finishing the program.

Graduate Portfolios: Graduate portfolios are due by April 4th of spring semester and by July 11th of summer semester. Spring 2008 semester will be the last semester that electronic portfolios will be accepted. Summer 2008 portfolios must be submitted through LiveText.

Practicum Applications: All practicum applications must be received by your advisor by MIDTERM of the semester PRIOR to practicum. A $200 practicum fee will be assessed (along with your tuition) to provide a stipend for your Mentor Teacher and travel expenses for your University Coordinator. Students must complete their practicum during their last semester and can have no more than two classes remaining. Students must have successfully completed EDTD 6364 and EDTD 6491 prior to practicum.
