ANNOUNCEMENTS

Mandatory Meeting For All Spring 2009 Apprentices: (Early Childhood, Middle Grades and Secondary) on Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in University Hall 170. Apprenticeship requirements will be discussed at that meeting.

Educator Expo Information:
Educator Expo is a job fair for k-12 school systems to recruit candidates for 2009-2010 teaching and administrative openings.

Four Free E-Portfolio Help Sessions Available!

MAT and Undergraduate Students:

M.Ed. and Ed.S Students:

Field Experiences:
All graduate students accepted into our program Fall 2008 (or after), must complete a total of 300 hours of field experience (not counting practicum) by the end of their coursework. Students will need to document extra hours to complete the total 300 hour minimum. If students are employed as teachers or paraprofessionals in a school, they will complete their field experience requirements in their classroom. Information on requirements can be found under Field Experiences

Graduate Portfolios: All e-portfolios must be submitted to your advisor through LiveText by the end of the 13th week of the semester the student plans to graduate. Fall 2008 graduates are required to submit their e-portfolios no later than Friday, November 14, 2008

Practicum Applications: All practicum applications must be received by your advisor by MIDTERM of the semester PRIOR to practicum. A $200 practicum fee will be assessed (along with your tuition) to provide a stipend for your Mentor Teacher and travel expenses for your University Coordinator. Students must complete their practicum during their last semester and can have no more than two classes remaining. Students must have successfully completed EDTD 6364 and EDTD 6491 prior to practicum.

Students are NOT to contact schools regarding possible apprenticeship and/or practicum placements. Our department has a system in place to ensure appropriate placements are made.

Graduation Applications:
Graduation applications are due by midterm the semester prior to graduation! See the Graduation link to the left for more information.
