I am Charnita West and I am currently a part-time instructor at both Georgia Regents University and Georgia State Universities. When I am not working with graduate level pre-service and in-service teachers on improving reading pedagogy, I am monitoring teaching and learning as an elementary school administrator. I hold a B.A. in English Literature (DePauw University), M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education (Georgia State University), an Ed.S. in Educational Supervision and Administration (Columbus State University), and a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning (Georgia State University).

My hobbies are reading; attending concerts and plays; playing with my Yorkie, Bentley; and watching sports. I am an avid sports fan and season ticket holder for the Atlanta Falcons. Although I am a native Atlantan, my favorite sports team is the Pittsburgh Steelers.
