I was born in New Mexico and attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I received a Master’s degree in reading from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces New Mexico, and an Education Specialist degree in Education Leadership from Augusta College. I have taught in four states, Arizona, New Jersey, New Mexico, and Georgia, two countries, Thailand and the United States, and in four different grade levels, kindergarten, first, second, and sixth. After earning my Education Specialist degree, I worked as an assistant principal, curriculum director, and principal. I retired from the public school system after 33 years and began teaching at Augusta State University. I am presently working on my doctorate from Georgia Southern University. I enjoy reading, traveling, and people.
