Kim Franklin received her Ed.S.degree in Teaching and Learning at Augusta State University in 2011. She earned her M.Ed. degree in Early Childhood Education from Augusta State University in 1994, in addition to a B.S. in Education from the University of Georgia in 1985. Before coming to Georgia Regents University (formally Augusta State University) in 2007, she taught elementary school at the P-K, kindergarten, first, and second grades levels for over 14 years in various public and private schools in Augusta, Georgia. Since coming to Georgia Regents University, she has been a faculty member, advisor, supervisor, and served as Apprenticeship Coordinator for the Teacher Education Department since 2008. Mrs. Franklin was named the College of Education Field Experience Coordinator from 2010-2011. She was appointed to the College of Education Marketing Committee, chosen as one of the Favorite Professors in 2012 by the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and received the Outstanding Educational Specialist Student Award in 2011. Mrs. Franklin was twice nominated for the Augusta State University Outstanding Teaching Award, most recently for the 2011-2012 year. She has served on the Teacher Education Remediation Committee, COE Partner School Network Advisory Committee, New Faculty Induction Committee, Faculty Recognition Committee, Teacher Education Field Experience Committee, and the Teacher Education ISL Revision Committee. Mrs. Franklin serves as a University Supervisor observing and evaluating teacher candidates in the field as well as teaching courses at the undergraduate level including curriculum and instruction and classroom management.
