WOW! Where do I start?! I don’t know quite yet what I want to be when I grow up, but I’m having the greatest time trying to find out!
I received my Associate’s degree from Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan and my Bachelor’s degree Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. With my new teaching certificate in hand, my young family and I packed up all our earthly belongings and headed for South Texas for my first teaching position. While there I earned my Master’s from the University of Texas, Pan American. After teaching for five years in the Texas Rio Grande Valley, we returned to Michigan and I began my tenure with Battle Creek Public Schools. In 2002, I began a course of study in Curriculum and Instruction, and Educational Leadership, earning my doctorate from the University of Toledo in 2006.
My wife, Vickie, and I came to Augusta in June 2006, leaving behind three sons and one awe-inspiring daughter-in-law. Three of our four children set their career sites on education. Our oldest son is the director of bands, his wife teaches elementary music in the same district, and our middle son is working on his degree to teach high school science. Our youngest son is exploring a career in photography.
When I am not on campus, my wife and I can be found helping with Meals-on-Wheels, Golden Harvest Food Bank, and assisting at the Soup Kitchen here in Augusta.
