**Students are NOT to contact schools regarding possible field experience placements. Our department has a system in place to ensure appropriate placements are made.**

You must attend the Field Experience placement meeting held the first week of the semester in order to receive a field placement. Field placements will not be made for students who do not attend this meeting. Placement meetings are held on the first Thursday (during the first full week of classes) of each semester. Check the Teacher Education website for the location and time.

If students refuse a field experience placement made by the Department of Teacher Education, subsequent placements will not be made.

Each semester, the Field Experience Committee will review the documentation and you will be notified via email of their decision. Each student must have a total of 300 hours prior to practicum (for MAT's) or prior to graduation for M.Ed. and Ed.S. students.

If students are employed as teachers or paraprofessionals in a school, they will complete their field experience requirements in their classroom. If you are employed as a teacher, you must still complete documentation (for accreditation reasons). If you are an MAT student, you must complete your field experiences in a minimum of 3 different settings.
