Technology Requirements
New Computer Skills Competency Test
The Georgia Professional Standards Commission requires that all candidates recommended for certification in the State of Georgia have demonstrated proof of competencies in Instructional Technology. This requirement is satisfied at Augusta State University by the completion of one of the following PSC approved courses:
- EDTD 3011 Instructional Technology (3-0-3)
- EDTD 6011 Instructional Technology Applications (3-0-3)
Some programs at ASU do not have one of these technology courses included in the program of study leading to the degree. If a candidate is enrolled in a program that does not require one of these courses – the candidate can take the state mandated computer skill competency test. Effective 9/30/07, the Professional Standards Commission will no longer accept the INTECH test (Georgia AssessOnline). Effective 9/30/07, the only test which PSC will accept to satisfy the technology requirement is the new GACE COMPUTER SKILLS COMPETENCY TEST. The existing EDTD 3011 and EDTD 6011 are still valid.

Cost of the GACE COMPUTER SKILLS COMPETENCY TEST is $35.00.
