How can I get involved in Women's Studies?
The program and the student association are always eager to welcome new contributors to our work on campus and in the community. There are many ways for students, faculty, staff, and community members to be involved with the important work we do..
If you're a student . . .
Consider getting involved in the Women's Studies Student Association! You don't have to be taking Women's Studies classes to be active in WSSA. Women and men areinvited to join at any time during their career at ASU. Graduate students are also welcome. For more information, see the WSSA page or contact email@example.com.
If you're interested in the academic side of Women's Studies, take a look at our courses descriptions. Remember that WMST 1101 is the best class to start with if you're new to the field. Don't hesitate to ask your advisor where a WMST class might fit in your schedule, and be sure to contact Dr. Marie Drews (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have questions about the Women's Studies Minor.
If you're a faculty or staff member . . .
The Women's Studies Program Committee is always interested in meeting faculty and staff with an interest in Women's Studies. If you think that a class you're offering in the future might be a good fit for a Women's Studies cross-list, please contact program director, Dr. Marie Drews (email@example.com). Watch for upcoming information sheets about how to propose a cross-listed course. Faculty and staff are also welcome to bring ideas for programming, program development, and service needs to the Women's Studies Program Committee meetings.
Faculty play a tremendous role in introducing students to Women's Studies—if you have a student who you think would be interested in WMST 1101 or who might be a good fit for the minor, suggest that the student take a look at our website or register for the intro course. Lastly, faculty serve an important function in promoting and attending student events. Watch the calendar for events that you might be interested to share with your students or attend yourself!
